Itinerary

Day 1

RED MOUNTAINS Morning drive along route 68, one of the most remarkable drives in Argentina. Walk through red formations. Lunch in gaucho style. Altitude sparkling wine tasting. Check in to your hotel in Cafayate.

Day 2

CAFAYATE TERROIR Visit 3 wineries that have different stories, styles, and grow their vines at different altitudes in the sandy terroir of the Calchaquí Valley. Young daring winemakers. Traditional families.

Day 3

COLOMÉ Move deeper and higher into the valley, driving north along route 40, the longest in Argentina. Quebrada de las Flechas. Arrive at a winery that has been in production since 1831. Altitude biodynamic wines and the James Turrell Museum.

Day 4

ANCIENT WINERIES We venture further into the Andes, visit Bodega Tacuil tucked in a high Andean valley of the Calchaquí wine region. Indulge in the comfort of Estancia Colomé.

Day 5

CACHI Drive further north to a small colonial town, that is producing new high quality altitude wines. Afternoon drive down to Salta through Los Cardones National Park. Drop off in Salta airport or hotel.

Itinerary

Day 1

TILCARA AND PAINTED MOUNTAINS Morning drive up to the Quebrada de Humahuaca, located between high plains and the Yungas Forest. A unique high terroir that is home to new altitude quality wines. Huichaira, MEC and gourmet dinner prepared with products from Andean indigenous farmers.

Day 2

YACORAITE AND HUACALERA Easy morning walk (optional). Goat cheese tasting in Huacalera. Lunch with pairing and tasting at Yacoraite.

Day 3

SEVEN COLOUR MOUNTAIN AND SALT FLATS Walk around the 7 Colour Mountain. Drive up to Salinas Grandes and learn about manual salt extraction. Lunch in Purmamarca. Return to Jujuy or Salta airports.
